Am I Too Big (Or, GASP! Too Small) ?

Are you too bigToo small?  Somewhere stuck in the middle?  Or do you have absolutely no idea? What am I talking about?

At what point in your business should you consider utilizing a Virtual Assistant?

This is a question that has plagued many real estate professionals so lets talk about it!

Realtors who have just broken into the business are perfect candidates for utlizing a VA because this is the perfect opportunty for you to put processes into place that will help you grow more quickly and smoothly.  Often, we hear newer agents say they don't have enough work for a VA.  This isn't true! Any administrative or marketing task can be turned over to a VA, freeing you up to stay in front of your clients.  Also, you don't have to contract with a VA for a large number of hours each month - you can start with 5 or 10 hours per month.  That's the great thing about using a VA - you only pay for the number of hours you need and use your VA's services!

The Big Fish Realbig fishtors who have been in the business for 10 or more years are also perfect candidates for utilizing a VA because they are often busier than a bee in spring!  Using a VA at this stage is great because you can evaluate your business and highlight practices that can be refined to make you more efficient.  If you already have an in-house assistant, your VA can work alongside the in-house assistant to take over marketing or administrative tasks that keep him or her from being as efficient for you as they could be.  Perhaps your in-house assistant does not have time to consistently send out your Just Listed or Just Sold postcards.  Or maybe your newsletter hasn't gone out in quite some time due to your in-house assistant being overloaded with new listings.  Outsourcing these and similar tasks will only make your team stronger and much more efficient.

For those Realtors who find themselves in between - not little, not big - you're in a great position to start using a VA.  You may find that you are ready to grow your business and just aren't sure how to go about doing it.  A VA will be able to share with you the knowledge that they have gained from working with other Realtors - both large and small; the best practices that other Realtors have refined; the processes that other Realtors have found to work and those that have not worked.  If you want to work a specific niche, your VA can tell you how other Realtors have done in that same niche.  They are your "encyclopedia of the new age"!

So whether you have just started out in real estate or have been in the game a long time, consider utilizing a VA to help you grow and manage your business.  That's what we're here for!

I'm your Professional Real Estate Marketing VA!

John - That is definitely a BIG FISH, isn't it?  It's humungous!  Thanks for reading!

Renee - First of all, I'm so sorry to hear about your unsuccessful use of a Virtual Assistant.  One bad experience can ruin it for all of us (that whole bad apple thing).  I hope that you will someday give us another try.  Just as your first in-house assistant may not work out, your first VA is a learning process as well.  Now you know exactly what you want/need and what you don't!

Matt - Thanks for the comment!  Can't wait to read your fish story!

Charles - It does look like a catfish (my husband is an avid fisher but has never caught anything even remotely like this!).  Thanks for stopping by!
