Favorite Christmas Events In or Near Wellington Florida- Back To Bethlehem
Back to Bethlehem is our very favorite annual Christmas events. This event is put on each year by the Community of Hope Church in Loxahatchee Florida.
People travel from Orlando to the north and up from Miami to the south to participate in the most realistic and amazing reinactment of the birth of baby Jesus and what it was like to live in those times.
The acreage around the church is turned into a bustling Bethlehem city complete with goats and chickens, kids and adults all acting in their roles.
The members of the church all dress up in period clothing, many of them even learned to speak Hebrew. They have a village that goes on for acres of really great scenes from the past. There are bakers, candle makers, blacksmiths, spice traders to Roman soldiers standing guard and harassing the locals.
It is quite the event. It is held in the evening to present more authenticity to the scenes.
Back To Bethlehem is held for only a few days in December each year. There is always a line and you have to wait to get into the village as they only allow a certain number of people at a time. But the wait is fun. They treat you with popcorn and hot chocolate as older men and women put on skits with humor and interact with the waiting lines of people.
The entertainment is top knotch. Kids of all ages and adults love to visit Back To Bethlehem and for many families it has become a tradition to visit each year.
Loxahatchee is a town that borders Wellington on the north side. It is a rural area of Palm Beach County with most homes sitting on 1.25 acres.
Make sure to mark your calendars for next year's Back To Bethlehem Event.
