2 More(affordable) Bob Hope homes for sale in Palm Springs!
A few weeks ago I wrote a blog about the famous Bob Hope mansion going on the market for a "rumored" $45Million... it was a very popular post, even though it's price tag is well out of most peoples range. These 2 new listings formerly owned by Bob & Delores Hope are much more affordable! A celebrity owned home for under $1Million is rare!
The listing agent, Patrick Jordan describes the first home as a “Spanish charmer”. Located at 1014 E. Buena Vista in Movie Colony East. It was built in the mid-1930s, and bought by Hope in 1941. It’s a fairly typical little three-bedroom, three-bath, 2,126-square-foot house. It’s been in the Hope family all these years, and is now going for $469,000.
The second home, which is nearby at 1188 E. El Alameda, was bought by Bob and Delores Hope in 1946. The home is slightly bigger at just under 3,000-square-feet, sits on a double-lot and includes a pool. This one is selling for $659,000.
Neither of these homes, or their asking prices compare to the famous Hope mansion on the hill. The recent announcement that the Hopes’ mushroom shaped, John Lautner designed compound in south Palm Springs was going on the market for $45 million garnered attention from the media, locals, and the Hollywood set. The 22,000-square-foot manse, built in 1979, is said to have cost the Hopes $2 million to build.
*Kathy Schowe does not represent the Hope family on the sale of these properties. I am seeking saavy buyers for these charming homes!
