Tempe Ready For Another BIG Party

By

So, it’s almost party time in Tempe, AZ where the annual Tempe Block Party is always a sure bet for people looking to bring in the New Year while having a ton of fun.

A few changes are in store for the party this year. Unlike recent years, Mill Avenue will NOT be blocked off and partiers will not have to pay to get to the Mill Avenue District.

As always, there will be live music, dancing, a Family Fun Zone, fireworks and much, much more happening the entire night. At midnight and at 9pm, there will be a fireworks display. The 9pm fireworks will allow families and kids to enjoy bringing in the New Year.

The Family Fun Zone will include Emcees, DJs, music, dancing, interactive games and a ton of great entertainment from 6-9pm at 7th Street and Mill. Live local music begins at 9:30PM and will continue until past midnight.

Where: Mill Avenue District - Tempe, AZ
When: Monday, December 31, 2010
What Time: 6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. ( or later! )

Bars, bars and more bars will be open for New Year’s Eve. Many will have their own parties and cover charge so check with your favorite place if you need specifics. One of thebiggest parties on Mill is sure to be the one where Handlebar Tempe and Canteen Modern Tequila Bar are teaming up with Fat Tuesday for a giant block party of their own. Madness will ensue, for sure. Some of the details they have posted are as follows:

  • $15 for VIP pre-paid ticket (includes entrance through VIP line and re-entry to block party until midnight)
  • VIP Fast Pass will be $40 the day of the event
  • 7 bars, 5 DJs and 2 stages

Transportation and parking for the Tempe block party is easy. Just hop on the light rail and head to Mill Avenue! You can use one of the FREE park and ride lots and then purchase an all day pass to ride for just $3.50.
