As agents we write all kinds of blogs but we sometimes forget about our most important asset, OUR HEALTH.
I'm about to turn 62, but when I hit 61 I began to really listen to my body, and believe me when I say, your body will give you a warning when something is wrong. I'm in pretty good health and completed a complete physical when I was about 58, and the Dr. said how great everything was, but 4 months later I was diagnosed with a blod clot that went fro my groin to my ankle. The next 6 months was pretty scary. Well I'm okay now and missed that bullet.
Recently a friend of mine died of a stroke without warning, so they say. However, I read up on strokes and thought that some of us oldies but goodies should think about this.
A Doctor told me that he can typically reverse the effects of a stoke victim if the patient is medically cared for within 3 hours.
SO DON"T SIT AROUND AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
How To Recognize the Possibilty of a Stroke.
I made up an acronym START to call 911
- Smile-Ask if they can smile.
- TALK-Ask the to repeat a simple sentence.
- And
- Raise-Both Arms.
- Tongue-Ask the to stick out their tongue and if it's crooked or if it goes to one side or the other
- call 911
