My Dearest Donald

(each year since December 25, 2000, the last Christmas miles seperated my Donald and I, he has written me a letter for Christmas and no matter what gift may be under the tree, that letter by far is always my favorite.  This year I thought I would write him a letter for Christmas and well... it's okay if I share it with you too I think)

My Dearest Donald,

Sometimes I forget to say thank you for all you do.  And you my love, are my greatest gift and my greatest joy.  No matter my need you always take care of it.  You always take care of me.  And of course Abigail too.  It brings tears to my eyes to know how much you love her and would do anything for her.  She IS your daughter as well as she is mine.

Thank you for putting up with my "moods".  I know I can get grumpy and sometimes take the frustrations that life and work bring out on you. 

Thank you for always taking care of me when I don't feel well.  And I noticed that you've been doing more around the house without me asking.  And thanks for those tender moments that make a thing as simple as warching television special every night.

I am very proud of you.  And I'm so happy that you got a job this year that is less stressful.  Maybe I'll sell a bunch of houses next year and have a lot less stress. 

You make me a better person.  You make me want to go around and make all the world as happy as us.  I am so lucky that you are both strong and tender hearted.  You keep me grounded when I struggle with things.  And at the same time you have to wipe your eyes when a Hallmark commercial comes on tv too.  I have been very blessed in my life.  I was blessed to be born into a wonderful loving family, I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl and I was blessed the day you came into my life.  I will be by your side until my days on this earth are done.  And yes, I will watch a Christmas Carol with you each of those years. 

I love you so very much.  You are my soul mate and my heart will always belong to you.
