What & Where is Ocala, Florida?

That is what we wondered when we moved here. Initially we wanted to be near Orlando and its attractions. But we found Ocala so much more suitable.
Ocala has its own attactions including Florida's oldest attraction, Silver Springs. Ocala also is the Horse Capital of the World in the midst of rolling hills and hammocks of live oaks!
Only 1 1/2 hours from Orlando's attractions, 45 minutes from Gainesville and its Shands medical research facility, Ocala is ideally situated in the north central area of the sunshine state. We're near the heart of central Florida, providing easy access to both coasts, and the airports in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and let's not forget Gainesville, home of the Gators! It only takes a few minutes to travel north for an exciting football or basketball game.
Still referred to as "Slo-Cala" by many, it offers all the benefits of the more famous areas of the state at much more attractive costs and pace of living! Ocala boasts College of Central Florida, Ocala Civic Theatre, and the Appleton Museum all in a small town atmosphere.
And at this time of the year;
How could we forget "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”!
Newcomers to Beautiful Marion County might be interested in knowing that “Grandma” was recorded by former Ocala resident and Ocala High School graduate Elmo Shropshire.

Oh, did we mention, you can get a retirement home here for less than $100k! And only 20 minutes north of The Villages, Florida's largest golf and retirement community; only a decade old and its own city of 80,000+ and growing!
Of choose one of the following subdivisions:
Spruce Creek Golf & Country Club
