Life has its own brake system, and whether you apply them or not, they do get applied. I've been crazy busy for the past year. The weeks prior to Thanksgiving through Christmas were insanely busy. I had a lot of early mornings and late nights, but you do what you've got to do, until life puts the brakes on.
The week before Christmas, my mother and sister both ended up in the hospital with orthopedic surgeries. Two closings that were scheduled for the week before Christmas were bumped into the days after Christmas, and then it snowed. We can push lenders to hurry up. We can drag buyers/sellers across the finish line, but we can't make bodies heal faster or weather cooperate without an act of God.
A bank contacted me today to check on one of the closings with the question, "Is there any chance this is going to close in December?" My only response, "Who knows." Life just put the brakes on. I could start pulling my hair out, or I could start making calls, complaining, fussing, spewing whatever or I could do what I did. I took a nap. When life puts the brakes on a busy life, enjoy it. You probably needed it.
