Are You Tired of the Same Old Mugs You See Everyday? Look to the Left!

Are you tired of the same old mugs you see everyday?  Start looking to the left!

Ask anyone who’s been around ActiveRain for any length of time and they’llleft tell you that the friendships you make here are like the icing on a chocolate cake... “good on good.”

You begin reading posts from different AR members and find yourself subscribing to a good number of them because you enjoy what they have to say.

Soon you have quite the list of members to whom you subscribe.  More than likely your daily AR routine involves heading to the “Front” or Feature page of AR.... reading your subscribed to’s posts and going to Groups and reading some of the posts in there.  (The order in which you do this varies from Member to Member).

Friendships are made.... cyber and real.... and soon it’s all we can do to keep up with reading our “subscribers” posts.

But...don’t forget to look to the left!

If you go to the “bloghome” page of ActiveRain...you’ll see on the right a list of your “blog subscriptions” ..these are the Rainers to whom you subscribe.  This is one of the ways you can scroll through and read their posts first. (Don't forget the AR Social Blog)

However... to the left you’ll see the ActiveRain Blogroll...these are the posts that come in to AR each day.

I know because I scroll through this everyday to locate and read posts that will teach me something.

blogroll

Why venture to the left?

1. You’ll be introduced to the posts of other members.

2.  You may see the post of a Newbie.  What better way to Pay It Forward than by heading to their post and commenting on it.

3.  You could give more exposure to your own post by seeking out and commenting on the posts of others.

So if you’re getting a little tired of seeing the same old blogs....Tired of looking at the same old smiling mug?  Or.. just want to mix it up a little,  don’t forget the people on your left.

They’d love it if you stopped by.

I totally agree with you.  I look through the Featured Blogs, my Subscribed Blogs, and then look to the "left."   I usually find some interesting blogs right away!

I often click on "blogs" and find some headlines that really attract me, never mind who wrote them. Great way to meet new AR people. The ones I do go back to again and again, are the ones who comment back. Today I was featured (thank you so much AR gods) and it will take me a little longer to get back to everyone. Usually new ones show up which is great.

I always try to find one new person a day to comment on, Kathy.  And, if they respond, I know they are a keeper.

AR has been a great source of meeting other professionals and forging personal relationships with professionals that you would never meet elsewhere

Hi Kathy, being that I am one of the ones to the left. It is really nice to see an ambassador or someone from the 300,000-1 million club come over to the unknown and comment. Hopefully all will take heed to what you are posting. I thought of writing a piece of this nature but it would have seemed to have come off to harsh from me being that I am in the little ole 100,000 club.  Great Point, Happy New Year

Hi Kathy,

This is so true. But picking on Mr Mucci like that. Really LOL

I have to say I do comment on other than subscribed posts. Like yours today. But I do need to broaden the field.

Thanks for the reminder.

Have a great New Years Celebration.

Best, Clint McKie
