Last Saturday I had an appointment to show my Bakersfield listing "Paradise Found" early in the morning.
OK so I had seen the weather report and it said possible snow accumulation in the higher elevations so I put on my good Gortex Thinsulate Wolverines and dressed in layers.
When I leave South Burlington, VT it is 27 degrees F and the ground is bare and dry. I head out to my listing in Bakersfield, VT which is 25 to 28 miles away. When I get there it is a "Winter Wonderland" with 12 inches of new snow and it is 18 degrees F.
Now we are talking about a half mile unplowed driveway leading up to the house. No problem because I have all-season tires and they only have 20,000 miles on them. Well I made it without any trouble and the really cool young folks that came to see it had a nice big 4WD pickup when they came to see Paradise Found".
We had such a beautiful walk through paradise that I started to think... Is this really work?
My head and heart say no but my knees say yes... but it is worth it. I just hope someone nice buys the property so I can go hike the 280 acres of paradise. I didn't bring my smart-phone on the hike so there are not any idyllic photos of the pond but after this next storm I am headed up for just that. I will find a buyer who just has to own this piece of Vermont.
