While many are making return trips to the mall to return gifts, I’m thinking about getting back on track with marketing. Yesterday, I spent much of the afternoon reading “What the Plus! Google+ for the Rest of Us” by Guy Kawasaki. It was a quick read and it’s a great source for the novice user of Google+. Google+ now occupies a generous part of my day.
My game plan for January 1st is to use direct mail marketing a bit differently than I did last year. Previously, I mailed to the entire town in search of listings. My intention this year is to focus on small targets of 1,000 homes at a time with a specific group of recipients with a special objective. That group might be 55+ in age; or first time home buyers; or condo owners who might move to a single family home; or luxury home buyers. The list is never ending. The purpose is to target a small group.
My full page newspaper ad will also have a makeover and the flavor will reflect the groups that the postcards targeted. Those recipients will see the topic of discussion on the postcard and then see it again in the newspaper.
Our open house events will have new brochures designed for the final stage of each subdivision. The brochures will take on a new look with new photos and a new layout design.
Google+ is now added to my online marketing along with the three websites and ActiveRain. It’s important to freshen up what we do periodically, and January 1, 2013 is the perfect starting time for change. Change is good. Change is healthy!!
