Christmas Tree Recycling in Fairfax CountyYou’ve opened all the presents, cleaned up all the leftovers, and are now looking forward to the New Year. Why not start things off right in 2013 by recycling your Christmas Tree?

For the first two weeks in January 2013 Fairfax County offers free tree recycling. The trees must be free of all ornaments, lights, and tree stands, and be under 8 feet tall in order to be left on the curb for pick up. If your tree is larger than 8 feet tall you can contact your trash collector for more information on how to recycle your tree.

A special thank you to Joan Cox for inspiring the idea for this post.

Amanda, good information.  My tree seems to stay up too long for the recyclers to pick it up!
