The Mortgage Street Smarts of where mortgage interest rates are going (and why):

The following information is current as of Thursday 12-27-2012 and will help you understand today's best mortgage rates. If you are a Buyer/Borrower who is still on the fence (or if you are a Real Estate Agent attempting to educate your "on the fence" Buyer), please review these trends and secure an historically low interest rate before it is too late.

The market closed Wednesday with an IMPROVEMENT to pricing (and will typically warrant a pricing adjustment by most Lenders). Wednesday's IMPROVEMENT netted a change of 6 basis points (bps).

Market Commentary (Dan Rawitch)

Here is Dan's video for today:
http://www.ratewatch.com/ratewatchnow.html

We got a big negative economic surprise in the Consumer confidence number (or lack thereof).  I've also read early reports that this holiday shopping period was one of the worst we've seen since the recessision.  I'm not surprised...consumer confidence rarely lies, in my opinion.

THe surprise will carry us up to test 105ish...from there, we will see if the range holds or the 105 resistance is weak and allows a bigger move.
