San Diego Home Price Number of Straight Monthly Gains Ranks 2nd in the US
I guess I should announce the first place city first. That would be Phoenix, Arizona. Congratulations, and I am serious about that. The homeowners their suffered mightily back when. I am for seeing all of our cities price performance improve and price gains while it sounds bad for Buyers, is just the opposite.
How can that be? Because when homes are gaining in moderate increases in prices, it is called appreciation. And over the last 6 years, homeowners have seen drop after drop in the value of their homes. You might still wonder why Buyers are better off purchasing when homes prices are increasing. Because if the prices are dropping, how low will they drop? Will that continue after a Buyer purchases? It certainly did for many homeowners. Which means they paid more than the current value.
So Mr and Mrs Buyer, learn from this. Prices are going up and that is a good thing. And it is the right type of market conditions to buy. The timing of the buying decision however is yours to make. But as long as values are increasing consistently, this is how equity is built.
