Another year has flown by too quickly! And what a wonderful year it was! We opened a second office on the West Shore and are looking forward to seeing what the new year has in store. Harrisburg - Starting at 9 p.m. there will be games for all ages and a concert by Lima Bean Riot. A lighted strawberry will be dropped at Market Square at midnight followed by a fireworks display. Hershey - The eighth annual New Year’s Eve Celebration in Hershey kicks off at 10:00 a.m. and continues throughout the day. Fireworks will follow the raising of a giant Hershey kiss replica at midnight in the downtown square. Palmyra - Herald in the new year with a free horn and noisemaker as you watch a giant shoe drop. The Palmyra New Year’s Eve Celebration will include karaoke, trivia and music from a DJ. Lebanon - The 16th annual New Year’s Eve Bologna Drop will feature an edible, 12-foot-long, 200-pound Lebanon bologna. The meat will be donated to the Lebanon Rescue Mission and AGAPE Shelter after the festivities. Details: 10 p.m.-12:15 a.m., Ninth and Cumberland streets, Lebanon. 717-273-7215.
Duncannon - The star of the 13th annual Sled Drop is a 10-foot sled, built to resemble a Lightning Guider sled, which was a line of sleds made at Duncannon’s Standard Sled Factory from 1904 to 1990. Dillsburg - The 20th annual New Year’s Eve Pickle Drop will play host to children’s games, face painting, karaoke, a blood drive, music on the street and, of course, the famous pickle drop and fireworks show. For those who want more pickles, the community hall will be selling pickle soup. Mrs. Pickle will drop at 7 p.m., while Mr. Pickle will be lowered at midnight. Details: 4 p.m.-midnight. Lower Allen Twp. - In honor of the Yellow Breeches creek that goes through the area, Lower Allen Twp. is dropping a giant 5-foot pair of yellow britches.
