Joy:

Nice post. Loved watching train displays as a young boy. We had a friend who put a lot of money into his set and it was fun to watch.

Hi Joy,

I too enjoy trains.  I'm not a collector, but I would sure visit the different venues you highlight in your post if I lived in Central Pennsylvania.  Happy Holidays to you and your group!  The best is yet to come.

Thank you Alan - I have a client that had a huge display in his basement - they are a lot of fun to watch and I am trying to figure out which of these great events I am going to visit myself.  :)

Thank you Jordon - I appreciate your always upbeat responses.  I will take pictures and post about the one I am able to visit.

I, too have become somewhat of a train lover.  Last year I visited a train museum in Ely, NV. which sparked my interest.  Trains were so instrumental in the growth of this nation, and the growth of the economy.  Fascinating history.

Joy, I always loved Trains as a little boy my parents got me a simple set for Christmas and I complained to my mother why the adults (my father and his friends)  were playing and when will I be allowed to play with it?:))) It is truly fun to see some of the more elaborate Train & Scenery set ups. Thank you for doing this post...brought back some great memories!

Hi Joy - what a great list of places to find train displays in your area.  You're right this time of year does seem to remind me about trains --- I guess there's nothing like seeing a train go through a tunnel around a track with snow covered buildings even if it's a model-scaled.

You make me laugh Endre - were the "adults" playing with the set OR setting it up for you. . . :)

You are right Michael and Don - it's a "happy" experience for adults and children alike.  There are some incredible displays that have been set up!
