Back in 1972, Jackie Gleason started up The Inverrary Classic at The Inverrary Golf Club in Lauderhill, Florida.

Through the years it has been held at several different courses in south Florida- always in early March.

Sponsors have also changed: American Motors had it in 1981 but it has been Honda's ever since and should be for at least the next five years.

This year it will be held at PGA National Golf Club's Championship Course.

The Tournament will start off at 7 AM March 1st on this par 70, 7048 yard course - the top course of the 5 at the Resort.

Starting this year, the Classic will have a new beneficiary: The Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation run by Jack and Barbra Nicklaus - 2007 should yield at least $1 Million for pediatric health care.

Teri-

Thanks - and thank goodness for the auto setting on my camera!

Photography is one of those things I always wanted to learn more about- but for now 'AUTO' is fine.

Hey Marc, is that the senior tee box marker you play from?

I like the photo.

Jay, See the 2 yellow markers way off in the distance? (just to left of the one palm tree sticking out on the right)  That is where Marc plays from.  (I think it is refered to as the Ladies Tees)  J/K  We usually play from the back tee box or second from the back depending on what kind of day we are having.

Marc, Are you still planning on volunteering for this event?  If so, let me know.  I want to get a couple golf balls autographed to use as give-aways for some contests.  (winner will be me, of course) :)

Jay-

I took the pic from the back of the Pro Area.

I might TRY to play from there - look at it this way - you'd have more of an excuse for a bad score!

Jason-

Well- look who's talkin' trash!

The guy who has a hard time getting his drives PAST the Ladies tees!

It's OK, the re-match is coming.........

And yes, I still plan on volunteering.

Rule #1 - use a pencil with an eraser

Rule #2 - use the eraser

We use a pen because Marc often confuses the pencil with a tee... still trying to teach him the difference. :)

Well, if memory serves, your birthday is coming up... shall we have a gold match to celebrate yourB-Day?  And as your present (no, I will not pay for your round), I will let you win. :)  Okay, maybe I will pay for the round, too.  Or, I will treat you to the final day at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.  Which would you rather have?

Tim-

That's a great idea - thanks for bringing it up.

I don't think I've ever seen these before.

What are the costs like?

See Marc,

You're not the only one that gets the pencil and the tee confused...  but at least they are still able to keep track of things thanks to technology.  Score cards do not count as technology, still need to use the pen.
