We lost Dick Clark this year, but that doesn't mean you still can't have a rockin' New Years Eve!  Here in the nation's capital, there's never a shortage of things to do, no matter what day of the year it is.  But for New Years, many want to say good-bye to 2012 and ring in 2013 with a big party or celebration.  If you're not one to stay at home, here are some events in and around the Potomac River where you can ring in the new year:

• First Night - Just one word..."Totally Awesome"...ok that's two words, but how else can you describe this fun-filled family event where you can walk around Alexandria and catch a little bit of everything, including fireworks and over 100 live performances!
• Spirit of Washington Dinner Cruise - Enjoy the Potomac River views of 'both' worlds on the Spirit of Washington Cruise.  Park your car, get on the boat, and sail your way into the new year.
• Odyssey Cruise - My favorite of the local cruises, dance and enjoy fine dining aboard The Odyssey while gliding along the Potomac River.
• Big Night at National Harbor - From Old Town Alexandria, park your car and take the water taxi across the Potomac River to the Gaylord Hotel at National Harbor.  Hold on to your party hats because this party rocks on until 3 AM. 

The New Year's Eve celebration is always one to remember.  Whether it's a cruise along the Potomac River, a hotel ballroom, or the stroll around town, have a safe time ringing in 2013!
