Things to do before leaving your winter home
It is getting to be that time of year in Pennsylvania when the snowbirds leave and travel to a warmer area like Arizona or Florida. I love this advice that Pamela has offered in her post and thought this was a good time to share it with others.
Leaving your winter home
Here in Arizona we have an exodus of “Snow Birds” in April. Here are some hints of things you might do to prepare your home:
- Leave a roster of repair people you use with a neighbor, Plummer, electrician etc.
- Unplug garage door opener
- Put rods/boards in doors/windows
- Close sinks, shower and tub drains
- Strip beds of all linens. This will allow mattress to air out.
- Vacuum carpets and floors thoroughly
- Turn off water supply to the home and empty water features
