I know, busy is no excuse for not feeding my blog delicious new content on a daily, or at least a regular basis. But, and there's always a but, the second half of 2012 brought a return of business to this real estate agent not experienced since those glorious heydays of five years ago. Was it easy? No, far from it. Did it take time away from blogging? You bet!
It was easy to find time to blog when the phone was not ringing and appointments were few and far in between. I'm thankful I made good use of the lull in real estate activity by building a library of nearly 3,000 articles on my various blogs and website. However, like food, once a new post is digested the blog cries out to be fed again.
I hear this cry when I check Google Analytics. It grows louder when I check clicks and views on this blog and on my website. Yes, a blog lets you know when it needs to be fed. If I ignore it, and I found this out the hard way, my pipeline of prospective customers dwindles to a slow drip. The delight of waking up to inquires and requests from prospective buyers and sellers happens less frequently. Make no mistake, a hungry blog will effect your bottom line.
I still have the same 24 hours to do my work and live my life. However, it's clear, something has to give as I'm determined to feed my blogs. They are too important to my business to consider any other option. One thing I know for certain about 2013--my blogs will eat very well.
