I'm sure that everyone here has known someone or has a family member that has changed after they came into a great deal of money or attention. Sometimes that can cause a rift in a friendship or strain family relations. Ask anyone who has won the lottery. Or has had the media focus on their life.

Well, that is not always the case. Sometimes, fame becomes them. Of course, its not the first time that Toy, my traveling Pekingese has been in the news. Back in 2003, she managed to escape the house and was taken in by a neighbor. Unfortunately, the neighbor decided that Toy was too cute to return to her rightful owner and kept her for 18 months. During that time she also moved from Las Vegas to Des Moines, Iowa.

Thankfully Toy escaped from her captor and enlisted the help of a good samaritan on his way to work. He took Toy to the local animal shelter that he adopted his dogs from. They, in turn, found her microchip and the rest, as they say, is history. This week Toy was selected as the "Dog of the Week". You can view her pics and bio using the above link.  If you have a special dog(s), you can submit their information to the blog owner for their chance at fame. ;) -Charles

Not right away, but by the time we got home she ran right out the doggie door in the back of the house like she never left. -Charles

I don't know whether to be happy or angry.  Happy for you for having Toy back home, or angry at the neighbor who had the audacity to steal a pet.  Hmm, something tells me Princess Toy doesn't like sharing her big bed.

toy-mimiActually Ben, that's not true. She will share a bed with anyone (the bigger the better, and she always lays right in the middle), except Doodle, one of our fosters.

He follows her around like a puppy....unrequited love I guess! -Charles

Jacqulyn,  she's beautiful!  You must be so happy to have her back - I can only imagine!

By the way, I love the picture of Toy in her tiara!  She's a bit of a diva, I take it!
