I can hardly believe it's been five years! On December 27, 2007 I became an ActiveRain member.
It took me four days to get up the courage to make my first comment on a post.
It was New Year's Eve and a Portsmouth, NH agent, had written a post about the local New Year's Eve activities. I commented....
"Happy New Year from a fellow Portsmouth resident! I won't be enjoying the City's festivities tonight, I will be at home getting aquainted with the Active Rain community. I've just recently joined and it is a bit overwhelming! I'm very excited with what I've found so far!"
I was very nervous hitting the "submit" button that first time.
I was so excited when she replied with a friendly welcome to ActiveRain.

Writing your first post and putting it out there can be very intimidating....but then the friendly, supportive comments come and suddenly you're a blogger!

If not, go and see who it was.
Why not surprise them with a little "thank you" comment on their latest post identifying them as your first.

Both giving and receiving comments will be rewarding in many ways.
There are a lot of very special people here that I now consider my friends, even though we have never met in person. Each one of these relationships started with a comment!
