The largest shopping mall in Kaneohe is Windward Mall, With over 110 stores. Numerous activities abound at this retail mecca all year round.
In addition to all Holiday events, the Farmer's Market, sponsored by NALO FARMS
is open to the public every Wednesday 2:30-7:30 and Sunday 10AM-2:00PM.
This year 2012 has seen many store changes. Christmas Old Out, in with the new at Kaneohe Mall.
CHARLOTTE RUSSE - has had their "Grand Opening" just in time for the Holidays. Their sale lasts to the end of the year. As with other stores,
there are seveal bargains to be found as low as 50% off prices marked.
DAIRY QUEEN - will be opening soon, replacing the Yogurt store, YOGEN FRUZ in the food court. From what I see, YOGEN FRUZ is no longer in Hawaii.
Maybe this will be a blog in the future. There were originally (7) seven of these operations statewide. There is stiff competition in the Yogurt market and then you can own your own 'frozen' yogurt machines at home, but you can't get that DAIRY QUEEN feel, so we will have that delectible serving soon. They are also looking for employees too!
MARUKAI - is thinking of closing its doors in Kaneohe and all items are now 40% off. This store features, oriental products that is hard to find at any other location. Many products can be purchased at only 99 cents or less. I picked up four boxes of 16 Christmas cards with envelopes for 73 cents per box!
Their other stores will remain open. They depend on volume and the Windward side just did not meet the needs.
SPORTS GEAR, which specializes in team wear, such as, football, soccer, baseball, basketball equipment, is seeing it's last days.
I surmise too much competition from Sports Authority that replaced the skating rink earlier in the year.
The Christmas decorations were wonderful. Christmas Old Out, in with the new at Kaneohe Mall. Don't know what we will see for 2013 in this Mall. Jones Lang LaSalle is the managing agent for the owners, Kamehameha Shcools, one of the largest private statewide schools in the nation, a Charitable Trust founded and endowed by the legacy of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, with over 6,700 students.
