To ALL Registered Voters in Florida!! Please don't forget to VOTE Tuesday, January 29th and VOTE YES on #1

If you have questions regarding how Amendment 1 will effect you go to http://www.yeson1florida.com

Amendment #1 is the start Florida needs to begin meaningful property tax reform. Once this amendment passes we must continue to pound the Florida legislature to take the next step.

No matter how much you like another proposal the soonest anything else can get on the ballot would be Nov. of 2008 taking effect Nov of 2009....... almost 2010!!! Florida cannot wait that long for a "start"!

Much more will be coming from other proposals and from the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission but nothing can be on the ballot for a vote before the Nov of 2008 because our constitution states the proposal has to be approved and signatures verified 90 days prior to the election.

EVERYONE.. Republicans... Democrats and.. Independents can vote in this election for this amendment!

Please take the time to VOTE and VOTE YES on #1

I have been so aggravated by the negative mail I've been receiving regarding Amendment 1.  I recently received something from the police and fire unions stating that emergency services will be CUT if we pass the referendum.

Another mailer stated that it would only benefit out of town buyers and leave local owners paying higher taxes!

I've got this to say to the police and fire union representatives.  My local government has done nothing but spend the windfall that they received in the last couple of years from property tax assessments going up.  They never truly budget.  Maybe it's time they learned how to.

And as to the scare tactics used on the other mailouts, Amendment 1 not only helps local homeowners, but also helps LOCAL homeowners who now live out of state, and local businesses.  It also helps local and out of state investors who want to purchase rental homes or a vacation home.  By putting a cap on these type purchases we encourage more investment into our local economy.

If we don't pass amendment 1 because it's not "perfect", then tax reform is dead.  Our legislature will think that the citizens of Florida are not interested in tax reform.  It's a baby step and we've got to take it.

I have posted before and will post again.  VOTE YES ON 1.

I think every Realtor in FLORIDA should be outside the polls with a VOTE YES ON 1 sign until all the voting is done.  I should have thought of that sooner and suggested that to FAR.
