South Pasadena CA - Celebrating New Year’s Day at The Rose Parade
The Rose Parade in Pasadena will be held tomorrow, January 1, 2013 and South Pasadena will have its float in the parade line-up. The parade theme is
"Oh, The Places You'll Go".
While there is plenty of attention for the some of the grander and more elaborate floats, don’t dismiss the features and the end result that you will find from South Pasadena. This all-volunteer effort will be honored for its use of all California flowers from San Diego to the Oregon border. The fifty foot float is a Spanish galleon in the shape of an open book, hence the theme "Sailing the Sea of Knowledge". This is just one of seven self-built floats in the parade.
South Pasadena is the oldest organization in this category.

So when you are watching the parade - take note of the self-built floats such as the one from South Pasadena and other Southern California cities and the Cal Poly campuses.
