Numerous time in my life a book has entered our household in a rather anonymous way or has been brought into my life through the efforts of others. I often view this as GOD attempting to get my attention because He will use the new book to bring about needed change in my life. Earlier this year my wife(Laura) and I were attending the Ocean City Tabernacle and the guest speaker was Paul Young. He shared his life experiences and gave background info on his bestselling book - The Shack. I stated to Laura that I think I should read it, only to have her tell me, we've had a copy for several years !
This week between Holidays has been a very peaceful period of time which allowed me to consume the Shack in 3 days. It was an inspiring great read. It showed me the Trinity working together in great harmony to bring about needed change in the lives of believers. The GOD of eternity explains the existence and cause of life's tragedy's. It gives a glimpse of Heaven and direct contact with the Father, Holy Spirit and Jesus that is very exciting. It also will touch you in a numer of disappointments you've experienced in your life journey and point the way to healing available in GOD.
Young warned us that the book may rock our learned theology and that we may have a problem with his chosen portrayal of the Trinity. But all and all I recommend the Shack to you as a fun and inspiring read.
