I like to treat my Sellers like VIPs because that is what they are to me. I like to make sure their home is opened up, lights on, fire lit and everything looking as welcoming as possible when the Buyers and their agents arrive.
Most Sellers are away at work when the Buyers arrive so this extra service is something that is greatly appreciated.
Today, our first day back on the job, we had our first showing of the year and I arrived, 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled appointment to see a gathering of workmen in front of the house. YIKES! A snowplow, a dumptruck and a few other assorted work vehicles were parked in front of the driveway with a couple of men directing traffic.
As I pulled up I saw lines/wires down across the driveway. And there, like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the pole
. . . the snowplow sideswiped it.
My first thought was "oh no, the power will be off" !! I can't have this beautiful home shown with no power!!
Luckily, it was only a telephone pole. The power was still on.
I begged the guys to get the driveway passable in the next few minutes and to set the Buyer's fears to rest as they arrived.
They really got into the act and I think they quite enjoyed themselves, directing traffic like they were in a ballet on stage!
I scurried around inside getting all the lights on and the living room all warm and cozy with the fire glowing, fluffing pillows and straightening towels, etc.
The Buyer and his agent arrived and of course I let them know a brand new pole was going to be INCLUDED in the sale :0)
If you or anyone you know is interested in selling their home, please let them know they deserve VIP service and that is what they'll get with Susan Emo in Kingston, Gananoque and the 1000 Islands region.
