Is it just me, or has this January been extremely long? Each year, my patience for super cold and dark and gloomy diminishes. Every day in January counts as at least two in real time, bringing me to my point. The holiday lights and tree topped pots, wreaths and bows look a little tired about now. Despite the fact that just one month ago New Years Eve still loomed ahead, it is time to tweak those formerly festive decorations. If the greenery is now brownery---get rid if it. If your greens are still green, consider yourself lucky. Remove anything too sparkly and glittery and stick with fresh and natural outdoor ornamentation to get you through until spring...

It's been long but I needed it to be so once it paid off!

I agree.  I am so ready for spring!  And driving around seeing all the old holiday ornaments still out at some homes....TIME to put it away folks!  I have a friend in Edina...John McDonald and his wife Colette.  Do you know them?  Say hi for me, if you do.  (how many more days until spring????)

Sorry, I am enjoying the season. It makes spring that more appealing when it comes.

January seems to go by pretty quickly, until I get the Christmas American Express bill! :)

I went to college in MN - I know those long Jan days. Perhaps it's too cold there to stay outside to take those decorations down! If I recall there is nothing colder than a MN winter!  (If it's anything like the packer football game last week, I wait till spring to undecorate too) Unless your house is on the market - then if you have to - hire it done - but get it done!!

But hey today is one day closer to spring!!

Yep, That is why I moved to Florida. I got tired of the cold Gray days of winter in Kentucky. I'm sure you part of the country is even colder....bbrr.

I agree with you, this is the first year that I really thought of moving to a warmer climate

Annie ~ It does seem to go on forever.  One bright spot though is that I notice it is staying lighter just a little bit longer!
