Today is a huge day in Florida. The eyes of the nation are on us as we have a primary and a property tax amendment (ok - so the rest of the nation doesn't care about our property tax amendment) to vote on.

Many people have died to give you this right to vote. DO NOT LET THEM DOWN!

I am not yet a citizen and so I can't join you, but I can tell you I never missed a vote of any description when I lived in the UK.

And once I become a citizen later this year, I will never miss a vote here.

PLEASE turn out and exercise your right.

On the subjects - Republicans - Romney seems to be the man - especially true since Florida's old guard GOP leadership is pushing for McCain. Makes me wonder what deals were done.

On the Amendment - it is bad law and will save you around $20 a month. Send it back to the legislature with a big message - GET IT RIGHT!

10 Comments on Floridians - DO NOT FORGET TO VOTE TODAY!

I agree that Amendment 1 does not go far enough.  Its the first step in taking back our hard earned money and we need to support it.

VOTE YES ON 1

Simon,

McCain should take the state. Gov. Crist in my opinion is working very hard for the people in this state. His approval rating is 95%.

Do you think Giuliani has a chance? He sure is betting the whole wad on the state of Florida!

CHRIS - if the Amendment gets approved, it will be both the first and last step.

SCOTT - McCain and Romney are tied according to the polls, but we all know about the polls. As for Crist - I have no idea where you are getting your numbers, but the true number is 60%. People are very concerned about him

AL - no chance. He might quit the race today.

DAVE - the Democrats have nothing to vote for today, so voting often won't be an issue! lol

I think McCain will take Florida as the current polls show, even though I wanted Huckabee. Maybe Huckabee can be VP with McCain...hmm.

Lynn - actually that is not correct. Current polls show a tie, but I don't think they are taking into account how smart the voters are here. This is a winner takes all State. The Rudy and Huck supporters will desert at the last minute.

I'm a Rudy man myself, but McCain will be the man. Thanks for the post.

I voted for Romney and voted Yes on 1 (with a lot of hesitation).  Romney is the only one of all the candidates except maybe Huckabee who might actually be able to do something in Washington.  The rest of the candidates are either completely inexperienced or have been career politicians.
