Take it easy Connie, you only have one life to live. I am happy you got checked out early before it became more serious.
Connie, Our bodies do talk to us ... if only we listen and not dismiss what it is telling us. Let's face it ... doctors do not know everything ... I know they do the best they can and sometimes they miss things or get a diagnosis wrong. I'm glad you are listening to your body and your medical providers. I hope whatever it is will be behind you soon and you are soon back to your "normal" routine. Thanks for participating in the contest.
great story and something we all should be making this a priority. You will be sharper and the energy to deal the diffuclt deals
Connie, thanks for explaining the reason of 2-3 mile walk instead of run ... I love to run, but after reading your blog I'd better start doing my walks instead of running ...Also thanks for sharing so Great story with us! Blessing!
Connie- Health is the new wealth! I'm glad you are taking it easy, walking is great and it sounds like your body agrees with it. You're right, our bodies do talk to us...if only we all listened!
Cheryl - It kind of knocks the wind out of you!
Mary - We're not in our 20s and 30s anymore. When I think of myself running in the woods with my blood pressure that high it's pretty scary. It's not like we could even tell them where we were if we did call 911!
Daniel - I'll be listening much closer from now on!
Bliz - I couldn't agree more. It's why I exercise so much to stay sane!
Joy - My husband has had high blood pressure for over 30 years so we've always been health concious. I just thought I was the picture of health!
Kathy - We came so close to not going. It's scary!
Connie, there are so many gifts of life and you going to the hospital to be checked out is one of them. Listening to one's body is not so easy always because we dismiss so many things. Our bodies have the ability to heal themselves as well if we listen to what we are being told. I know for myself, and your story is a good reminder, I take blood pressure meds plus some other things and I don't like it either but better safe than sorry or sad you did not. Exercise is such a must and getting there for me is not easy for sure. Your story also tells me to get moving more. Thank you so much for sharing and God Bless.
Gloria - How well I know!
Kathleen - We as Women are the worst! We think we have to soldier through everything instead of stopping and listening to our bodies. No more of that for me!
Sajy - I agree.
Emilia - I will gradually get back there. I'm just not going to push it yet!
Amanda - You just can't replace good health!
Mary - My Friend! They say there are NO good chest pains, to NEVER ignore them. I've learned so much in this past week. The future is looking brighter every day! Let me know how the excercise comes along!
Hi Connie- you are one very lucky lady. High blood pressure can cause many problems in our body including kidney failure which is what happened to my brother. Take care and keep listening. :) hugs from Annapolis
Thank God you listened to your body Connie. Modern medicine is magic.
Martha - When I think of continuing with my activities and not knowing, it scares the @#$%$ out of me!
Conrad - So here's your answer. :)
Without our health, nothing else matters. I'm so glad you were able to see some warning signs and able to see that there were other signs for you to see.
Dana - It was a huge wake-up call. Now I begin a new journey learning how to live with HyperTension.
Connie, so glad you made the first trip to the hospital. Your health is the best asset you have. Sometimes we take it for granted, I could just imagine how scary it was for you. Thank You so much for sharing your story and glad to know you're doing well.
Connie definitely glad you were smart and went right to the hospital and followed up with your doctor. Sharing this story will definitely help someone else who may have thought the trip to the Dr. wasn't necessary or toughing it out against your body is the right thing to do.
Beth - To think that I almost didn't go because I was feeling better, is really scary.
Debra - The Doctor trip was really eye opening. If this post makes one person go to the doctor instead of hesitating, I'll be happy.
Hi Connie, I am just now reading your story, and glad to hear that you took action once you had some symptoms. Waling is not as bad as it sounds, but I know it's big change from running. I can remember when I was first diagnosed with high blood pressure. Your whole life style changes if you want to stay healthy.
Jerry - Walking can be very enjoyable, especially when your with someone. It's the greatest way to get caught up and get some exercise too!
Kristin - I had a long talk with my cousin this morning who is a pharmacist. She also understands our family heart history. She gave me the confidence to try runnng by myself this morning. I'll build back up slowly. It's not a race or anything!
