Pamela, There are things out of our control but being aware is half of solving the problem.
Joni, It sounds like a great read, I am so looking forward to it.
Hi Debbie, once again thanks for sharing so great blog post, very important information, also congratulations on being an Ambassador!!!
Debbie - You are so right. It's the whole experience from start to finish, including whether/how someone answers the phone. This is a great reminder to look at the entire process. Thx.
Debbie,
That's one of the reasons I'm so careful when it comes to making recommendations for contractors. I'm always being solicited, but I trust the ones I'm already with.
Rich
Good morning Debbie - we certainly do get judged, all the time, by the company we keep. Great post!
Great post. I will check out the book you spoke of. I also LOVE the phrase in your post," You have a brand whether it is good, bad or mediocre."
Great Post Debbie. So many Realtors understimate both the importance of Branding as well as the importance of Image . . . and how they are connected!
The "brand" principal even shows up when I am in casual clothes out and about...Good post here
Debbie, good point about how people around you can affect your brand. Thanks for the reminder.
Branding is a HUGE part of our business andwe are working on it hard and heavy this year. I am going to get that book you meantioned.
I called reputation blocks .. .and they are they build your brand. . alongside your visual effects
Emilia, I am so excited to be an Ambassador.
Debbie, The consumer can get turned off at the first hello. I know I have.
Rich, I trust the ones I refer to and always ask my clients how it went.
Bob, It is a day by day journey that we take.
Wayne and Jean, Who we refer and who we associate with does influence the perception others have of us
Ken, I want to have a good brand. A mediocre brand is almost like a bad brand to me
Donald, Yes and the public is watching our every move.
Richie, It is with us wherever we go. People recognize us and associate us with what we do.
Michael, Thanks because others do affect us.
Steve, I am ordering it today as well.
Fernando, Protecting our personal brands is a daily job.
I was on the call as well Debbie. One of the best examples I have of damaging a brand was standing in line at a checkout listening to an agent, in a shirt with his name and company info on it, bad mouthing a client. He was loud and more than one person turned to look at him during his conversation. Not only was he hurting himself but the logo on his shirt was clearly identifiable.
Cindy, That agent made a name for himself, a bad name.
One frustrating thing is that even OUT of our control people can damage our brand.
Erica, I know what you mean. That could be someone in our company or just someone in the industry.
Debbie - I think I have a new book on my to read list, and it makes a lot of sense.
Thank you for the reference. I have many younger friends in the tech industry who are all very much concerned with their personal brands at all times. It's an interesting generational shift as most of them assume they will never be with a specific company for very long.
Christine, I ordered it this weekend and it should arrive soon. I am looking forward to the read.
Stuart, Really, how interesting. Maybe the book will address that paradigm shift.
