   Abandoned Bin

While I was out looking at properties I ran accrossed this abondoned bin.  It was an overcasted day an this object sat on a hill and looked like something from another time period.

I called it a grain bin but later I was not sure after looking on-line and noting that alll the grain bins were made of much strong material.

So what is it?

Looks like a silo to me.  More interesting is that  the photo looks like something from the past, days long gone.  Interesting shot.

Jennifer, I would have to agree with Lori, looks like something that would hold corn, something that they wanted to protect but needed nearby. Perhaps silage or some other feed for cows that were pasturing. . Very cool looking though, I love it!

I'd be interested to know what kind of field the structure was found in, I'd have to think it was protecting something that was needed in the area.

Great picture. You really set a mood with this one. I'm thinking this was something to store corn in. You know...corn that is still on the cob.

Lori -  Thanks, now that you mentioned tha,t I might have too.

Kenneth-  It sure had that look about it.

Andrea-  That make sense, it is located on what was once a working farm.

Morgan - farmland.  I see apple trees around so maybe it held apples.

Debbie -  A couple comments about corn on the cob store, so I am going to assume it is.

Being a city mouse myself I have no idea what it was used for but for now it makes a beautiful picture.

My guess is that this was a grain bin for animal feed.

Have an outstanding week.

Jennifer, you have a talent for creating art out of simple things, btw, as a former farm boy I can assure you that this is a Corn Crib, used for storing corn that is still on the cob.
