I'm sorry....Why Don't You Have ME in your Google Contacts?

By
Property Manager with Gibson Management Group, Ltd.

I am very sorry everytime I see the REMINDER that iGoogle will disappear in November, 2013.....so I am getting to know as many of its features as possible so that I can find alternatives before it DISAPPEARS....

I am so happy to have found Google CONTACTS.....having used a Palm PDA device for almost a decade, I needed to find an alternative that I only have to enter contacts in one time....VOILA!  Google CONTACTS.

Since I had CATEGORIES in my Palm CONTACTS, I could SAVE and UPLOAD them in Google AND I can even upload photos.

I have photos of properties AND the directions to them in one category....easy to copy/paste into an e-mail for service personnel and would-be tenants.

My FIRST criteria was that my new system would be FREE, the extra ADDED bonus is that it is EASY~

I like google contacts.  I just wish there was a way to create labels from the contact list.  It is a great feature otherwise.

I have never used Google Contacts.  I will have to take a closer look at that to sync all of my contacts in one place with all of my devices.  Thanks for the share.

Many do not realize you can place contacts in CATEGORIES or GROUPS that you can create...I'm creating a NEW PROSPECTS category for 2013

Dear Wallace,

How do they make money, if it is free? Do you have ads on the page?

Great blog Wallace, I dont think that I will miss Igoogle, but gmail and google contacts have become an indispensable part of my operation with two androids and numerous gmail accounts.  My only complaint is that google contacts and outlook contacts do not sync as well as they should.

Wallace, after going through 6 faulty smartphones in less than a year, I learned that you could sync your google contacts to your phone and never have to worry about losing them (or adding them back) again. It was a real time saver! Additionally, you can use the groups feature to label contacts and only show the groups on your Android smartphone that you want to see on your phone. Again, another time saver. I don't have to cycle through a 1000 names to find someone.

iGoogle is going away because Google has found a "better way" to personalize. If you use Chrome and open a New Tab, you'll see "apps" similar to your smartphone. You can add more apps to this screen and personalize it in the way that you use the Internet. I'm really starting to love it.

I have been using Chrome for over 2 years and love it, there are calendar apps, shortcuts to my gmail and hotmail accounts (hotmail by the way converted to outlook I love their new look)  and I found Chrome to be 3 times faster than explorer, fox or others.

Wallace, I have been so embedded with MS Outlook that I never considered setting up Google Contacts.
Maybe I can run a parallel system to see if it fits my needs.  Thanks for the input.

Call a Marana neighbor, I'm THERE!

I've just started using Google contacts.  Handy since I dropped and broke my phone, and they were mostly all there.  :)

Thank you for posting this.  I had no idea about Google contacts.  Since my Outlook is a mess, thanks to upgrading Internet Explorer, I'll review Google for the contacts.  Sounds like a good idea!

Thanks for your post, Wallace.

I have an Android Phone, a new Android Tablet and run Google Chrome as my browser most of the time. I am also into Google Maps and Google Earth. It seems that the Google Contacts may be the way to bring it all together.

I am especially interest to see how to integrate my phone contacts with my e-mail contacts.
