Ravens win over Colts, score 24-9! You see, I am a Baltimore girl, through and through. You can take the girl out of Baltimore but you can NEVER take the Baltimore out of the girl! (as I am constantly reminded when a fit of profanity exits my mouth)
I have lived over half of my life in New Jersey and then another 4 years in Naples FL. The thing about Naples is that most folks you meet here in Naples are from somewhere else. (I am still trying to figure out the owner of the Ravens golf cart in Eagle Creek)
The funniest thing is that the other night we were dining with folks we recently sold a home to in Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club. This lovely, wonderful, couple were from one of those “M” states, Michigan or Minnesota? Some place on water that gets really cold in the winter…it is beautiful and warm in the summer. They thought that since we were from NJ that we must be Italian!!! Seriously, with Irish names like “McLaughlin and O’Shea” they thought we were Italian?
It must be too much of “Jersey Shore”, “Housewives of NJ” and the “Sopranos” that they connected the Italians to New Jersey!
I laughed and explained that we were not Italian and the heredity of both of us and not one spec (to my knowledge of Italian).
Getting back to the Ravens!!! I am so very thrilled for my hometown of Baltimore that the Ravens beat the Colts. You see, many years ago in another life, my existence as a young bride hinged on the Baltimore Colts. I may not have been an avid fan, but I will NEVER forget the day that the Colts were moved out of Baltimore in the middle of the night. This event overshadowed and came so very close to my finding out that I was going to have a baby. The move of the Colts put a real damper on my “parade”! That is my own personal vendetta and the fact that the Ravens beat the Colts in the Ravens Home Stadium brings joy and happiness to my heart! (all of my posts will be in purple until the Super Bowl!)
