Are you planning on buying a home after Chapter 7 bankruptcy?  It would be in your advantage to wait at least two years after your Chapter 7 bankruptcy discharge date, if you are planning to get a 30-year mortgage.  If you have 15% or more as a down payment (plus your closing costs), you may be able to buy a home within the same year of your Chapter 7 discharge; considering that you have the income and are willing to pay higher fees.   If you are approaching your two year anniversary of your Chapter 7 bankruptcy discharge, remember to pay your bills on time, save as much money as you can for a down payment, keep the same job for a year or more and you will be ready to buy a home!    Call me today to start your home search!

A very small percentage of those that file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy are likely to be able to purchase a home again in two years.  Restoration of credit can be a long and difficult process.
