More People Moving to Florida in 2013?  I Hope It’s Not A Figment

According to Zac Anderson of the Sarasota Herald Tribune more people are expected to move to Florida in 2013 than in the past several years and the migrations should continue to gain momentum through 2016.

Figment

This would certainly be good news for employment in the state (and for real estate agents). We can only hope that it is a real prediction and not a figment..

Good morning Toni,

Hope this is true for you also! There are some great home values in Florida right now. If FL finds an increase in job creation you will find people moving to FL in 2013!!

That would be fantastic.  We're seeing a influx of people buying second homes, but until the employment numbers change here our "moving here" outlook is bleek.  The news yesterday was another pending 485 layoffs.

Hmmmm, I have mixed emotions about that. I think I would rather just see us move around and buy new homes instead of the state becoming more congested :-)

Toni- I would 't be surprised. Over the holidays our area was packed so I' m thinking that many realized what great opportunities there are here in Florida. Of course the weather doesn't hurt either.

We still have a lot of cars on the roads, Kathy. It seems like lots of snow birds are here this year.

It sure does sound encouraging, Tom. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

Toni,

As we have traveled in Florida in limited areas, I can understand why people like it and will probably continue moving to Florida.  We were recently very impressed by the Jacksonville area, Ponte Vedra and St Augustine, especially by their weather.  A

Hi Toni.  I am hoping for renewed growth in Florida too -- you may recall, I have some undeveloped land to sell!  As I tell my clients, it's always about supply and demand.  People moving into a region create demand, which raises prices and spurs new development.  Onward!
