Austin Texas is a hot market for many things....great place to retire, major companies relocating and lack of apartment rentals.
Early in December, VISA announced a new IT campus in Northwest Austin that will hire approximately 800 people....of course some will transfer here from San Francisco, California but over 500+ will be local hires.
This comes on top of Apple and General Motors opening new campuses in Austin...so guess what that does to the rental market?? KVUE, the local ABC news affiliate ran a story today that we are seeing one of the hottest rental market in the state with complexes reporting 95% occupancy rates. Monthly rates are increasing and just like the sales market, if you see it and like it, you'd better put an application in immediately.
Coupled with low inventory in the resale housing market it makes sense to call a REALTOR to help you find the place to rent or purchase. For a renter or purchasers, our commission is paid by the apartment complex or by the sellers, respectively.
So what are you waiting for? Pick up the phone and call me, Gwynn Teal Carpenter, Broker of Home and Hearth Realty at (512)467-6191 to begin the conversation about relocating to Austin, Texas.
