Deer Eating Bird and Squirrel Food in Middle of My BackyardDEER EATING PLANTS & BUSHES IN GREATER CLEVELAND AREA! HOW TO STOP IT.

We have deer living in our yard.  We have an island of trees and boulders in the middle of our rear yard.  When the deer curl up in the area at dusk and night, they look like the boulders.  These are females, a doe and two or three fawns.  We also have a young buck and old buck, with a large rack, who pass through our yard at irregular times, who lay down to rest in our front yard.  They are beautiful....  But, we have a lot of lanscaping, with the front yard landscape totally replaced in Nov., 2012.  And, the deer started to eat our bushes and plants --even the new ones.

HOW TO STOP THE DEER WITHOUT HARMING THEM:

There is a wonderful product  from the Liquid Fence Company Inc.  It is called "Liquid Fence Deer and Rabbit Repellent." It comes in a concentrated bottle.  To use it, it needs to be diluted in a spray bottle.  The active ingredients are putrescent whole egg solids (putrified eggs!) and garlic!  The smell is awful until it dries on the plants and bushes. The product is eco-friendly --it does not harm wild animals, pets or humans.  This product works!  We still have our deer, but they don't eat in our yard.  We purchased the product from John Deere Landscapes in Avon Lake, OH.

THE PHOTO IS PRICELESS:

So, the deer no longer eat our bushes and plants.  However, the doe was able to stand up to knock loose a house, hanging in a tree, that contained squirrel and bird food. The two fawns at the right are eating the food....

Thank you for the tip and yes the picture is gorgeous.  We live across the street from a preserve and have a great family of deer.  So every year I plant impatients around a potted tree near my driveway and every year the impatients are nibbled off.  DUH!!!! Of course it's deer.  I'm getting some of your magic potion.  Subscribed.

I have always thought seeing deer roaming would be nice, but talking with homeowners, they say lots of their foliage is eaten.   Great advice.

I love the Local Deer - they are graceful, peaceful, magnificent - UNTIL they destroy our garden and eat our landscaping!

Thanks for the great tip - I will try this.

Good information for many suburban home owners that are experiencing damage from the deer population.

Roy, thanks for your comment.  Quite true.  It also works well against rabbits.
