In the course of 3 years of home Staging, there have been many clients who have faithfully done what I've asked with regard to painting their homes a more neutral color in order to have those homes appeal to a broader market. After all, this just makes practical marketing sense.
However, there have been a few who, for a number of reasons, have been unable or unwilling to change out dramatic, personalized colors. For them, I've discovered that fighting with color never works. Here is one example of how NWDH addressed these challenging opportunities:

NOTE: Fortunately, I have a large enough inventory that I didn't have to go out and buy anything extra for this home. Otherwise, I would NOT have made any money!
