Is McFadden worth it??

The latest rumor is that the Dallas Cowboys will trade Marion Barber, our first round pick and second round pick to the Miami Dolphins so we can get Arkansas' Darren McFadden.  What??

Why would we give up a Pro Bowler in Barber?  Besides the fact that Jerry Jones is obsessed with his alma mater.

I think McFadden is a good player but I don't think it is a good move for Dallas.   I wasn't impressed with McFadden during the Cotton Bowl when I saw him.  And he is injury prone.  There is no guarantee he will be a star.  And if we are giving up so much then we need a guarantee(which isn't going to happen in the NFL).

Dallas needs a RB to compliment Barber.  And I feel confident that we could get a good running back in the later rounds or even in free agency.  I think we should be looking at Felix Jones or even Tony Temple in the draft.  Barber is a power runner and we need a shifty quick guy as the 2nd back.

Let me know what you think?  Should Dallas keep Barber or go for McFadden?

I can't even put into words how ridiculous this would be! No one trades a first and second rounder for anyone....let alone their starting RB too. You only do that if you have a devine promise that you're getting Tom Brady pre- 4 championships...now if that's the trade PLUS Zach Thomas and some secondary help and draft picks....maybe! RBs have such a short shelf life- you can't do this.....it's like reverse Herschel Walker.

Cowboys, like 30 teams have multiple needs....CB is a big one...Adams and Columbo looked like turnstyles in the playoff game...Lotta good players at 22 and 28 ....plenty of good RBs in the late first round and after....you can get a good WR too....no no no no no!!!

Jim - couldn't agree with you more.  great comparison with Herschel.  And, yes, we need a good CB and a younger WR.  I think Terry Glenn's career is over - he needs another surgery!

Hi Linda, I think that is ridiculous if Dallas even tried it.

Jim Ludes are you already handing Brady the Super Bowl? He has three rings. LOL

D'Ann - I think the Cowboys would be crazy to get rid of Barber but you never know with Jerry Jones.

Jay - totally agree.  that is pretty much the consensus in the Dallas area.

Linda:

I agree with you, I think we have a few other holes we need to fill before we look at a RB. Namely replacing Roy Jones.
