Out with the Old, In with the New Contest Results. Wow, were there some really good refreshed blogs submitted during the December Contest period! There were hundreds of posts to review and thanks to fellow ActiveRainers Suzanne McLaughlin and Dick Greenberg who agreed to help me take on the challenge of reading and qualifying the entries we got it done.
Nearly every single post was greatly improved and will no doubt start getting extra attention on the web. Many are creating extra Google juice as we speak. I found it amazing that a good percentage of the submissions were so good that they became featured posts and re-blogged so you the membership read many of them and probably didn’t even realize it.
There are no winners above any others. Everyone that participated was a winner in his own right. There were no first, second, third.......places awarded.
The rules stated that a graphic had to be used, a link to the old post and two supporting links (not to the home page of the blogger) to add credibility and interest to the subject topic. The format though important wasn’t as important as whether these elements were included and if it was an improvement over the old post. And they certainly were.
All the qualified posts were awarded extra points of 350 each up to a grand total of 2100 per person. There was no extra charge for all the extra Google juice that will be generated by these refreshed blogs and their extra shelf life.
So many bloggers really mastered the idea and concept. Here are just a few for you to read and see if you too agree, while the old posts were fine, the new and improved versions were even better.
This is just a sampling of the great posts that were submitted. I wish I could list them all but of course I couldn't so I tried to give a cross section of styles and topics for you all to see and enjoy too.
