How Many of These 85th Academy Award-Nominated Movies Have You Seen?

As reported on CNN today, January 10, 2013, the nominations for the 85th Academy Awards were announced. Many years I will have seen at least one-third to one-half of the movies.

This year is unique: I haven’t even seen one of these Academy Award-Nominated Movies.

Maybe it was because I was too busy helping families buy and sell homes in Silicon Valley in 2012 to go out to see many movies. I wonder though...how many have you seen...and what was your favorite...and who do you think will actually win?

BEST PICTURE: The nominees for best picture are "Argo," "Django Unchained," "Life of Pi," "Zero Dark Thirty," "Lincoln," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Les Miserables," "Amour" and "Beasts of the Southern Wild."

BEST ACTOR: The nominees for best actor are Daniel Day-Lewis ("Lincoln"), Hugh Jackman ("Les Miserables"), Denzel Washington ("Flight"), Joaquin Phoenix ("The Master") and Bradley Cooper ("Silver Linings Playbook").

BEST ACTRESS: The nominees for best actress are Jessica Chastain ("Zero Dark Thirty"), Jennifer Lawrence ("Silver Linings Playbook"), Quvenzhane Wallis ("Beasts of the Southern Wild"), Naomi Watts ("The Impossible") and Emmanuelle Riva ("Amour").

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: The nominees for best supporting actor are Robert De Niro ("Silver Linings Playbook"), Philip Seymour Hoffman ("The Master"), Tommy Lee Jones ("Lincoln"), Alan Arkin ("Argo") and Christoph Waltz ("Django Unchained").

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: The nominees for best supporting actress are Sally Field ("Lincoln"), Amy Adams ("The Master"), Anne Hathaway ("Les Miserables"), Helen Hunt ("The Sessions") and Jacki Weaver ("Silver Linings Playbook").

BEST DIRECTOR: The nominees for best director are Steven Spielberg ("Lincoln"), David O. Russell ("Silver Linings Playbook"), Ang Lee ("Life of Pi"), Michael Haneke ("Amour") and Benh Zeitlin ("Beasts of the Southern Wild").
