When You Treat Your iPad Like an Etch-a-Sketch

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

http://elizabethweintraub.com/a-new-tech-gizmo-for-this-sacramento-real-estate-agent/My first computer was an Etch-a-Sketch. Believe it. I played with that thing for hours, and I never drew any pictures. Nothing but lines and squiggles. That's because I have no artistic ability and fortunately that stopped my art career dead in its tracks, unlike, oh, Warhol. I can barely draw a stick man or stick girl. No matter how many matchbook covers I tore off and drew sample heads to submit to art school, I was never accepted into any art school. I had trouble trying to melt wax and carve an art project figurine. That doesn't mean I can't describe an artistic vision or that I possess zero fashion sense because I have no problem with color or design, I just can't draw, paint or sculpt.

Other people look at their iPad and they see a computer. I see an Etch-a-Sketch. Obviously. Because I was shaking mine the other day, with two hands, trying to clear the screen.

You and I have very similar ways of dealing with our technological problems.  I found myself shaking my tablet the other day when the screen was unresponsive.  I have very little patience for things when they don't work as they are supoosed to.  Usually it's operator-error (go figure) and my own lack of patience has locked up the screen because I've asked the darn tablet to do too many things in a row.

It does look similar to the Etch-A-Sketch, but I don't think shaking the unit is recommend Elizabeth.  :)

Elizabeth, Just bought my modern day Etch-a-Sketch, it's costing me plenty as my fingures like to touch the buy button for many things including trips. I will have to delay my real estate career for just a bit.

Hi Chris Ann: It's not frustration that made me want to shake it -- it's because for one tiny second it looked just like an Etch-A-Sketch to me. I have one of the first iPads that came out, so it's much thicker than those newer wafer-thin models.

Hi Linda: You talk to your iPad, too?

Hi Tom: It looks just like an Etch-A-Sketch.

Hi James: No, you don't.

Hi Pete: That "buy" button can get all of us into trouble and I use it a lot.

Hi Sally: Why should we have to press a stinkin' button to get rid of the screen when a shake should do it!!
