For many years people who have been coming to vacation at other areas of the Outer Banks would take a day to come up to Carova to see the Corolla Wild horses. Some would use their own vehicle, but many would use one of the local tour companies. The tours have changes over the years as the rules & lwas have changed. Once they did caravans on ATVs, then they changed to free roaming Jeeps, then to convoys of Jeeps. Some have done school buses converted to Monster Truck type vehicles. The lated changes to the rule will make the vehicle of choice modified pick-ups with seating built into the back. this type allows the companyies to move more people with fewwer vihicles with the hope of creating less stress on the horses and a lighter impact on the beach itself.
