jpegThis is the second post in my Clearing the Clutter From Your Home Series.  This is just a few more  detailed ideas on where to concentrate especially if you are preparing your home for sale. In my experience the closets can be a place where we hide all of the items that we need or use regularly. Often time the closet becomes a quick storage space when guests come over. We just throw stuff in and sort it out later.

Often times later never comes and the closets become piled with several levels of "Things" that jpegwe have no organized place for in our home. My suggestion is that you also clear out all of the excess hangers that accumulate from the dry cleaning. All of a sudden it seems as there is just no  room in my closet when I get overloaded with hangers. It really makes a walk in closet feel small when you can't walk in without getting poked with hangers sticking out! Potential buyers admire when they look in a walk in closet and everything look nice and neat. It give s the whole home a clean organized feeling.

I know what you mean about the closet clutter.  Recently I've been looking at all the stuff I've accumulated throughout my home and wonder what in the world I ever needed with most of it.  I'm trying hard to de-clutter in every room, and I know I'll think more seriously about any purchases I make in the future.  I'm really trying to focus on separating needs and wants.  Thanks for your suggestions.

You're so right.  Closets get out of hand in a hurry and should be any seller's first priority!  Great post.
