Baby, it's cold outside!

 

As soon as the temperature drops below 65 degrees in Long beach (or anywhere in Southern California) we forget how good we have it!  It's been as low as 40 degrees in the evening, our heater has been going 24/7 in addition to the fireplace.  I've taken liberty to use the cold (by California standards) to bake cookies.  I've baked my favorite Torie's Cherry Chocolate Chunk cookies for my husband's students, my son's teachers, and for a few clients.    I read Mona Gersky's blog regarding the flooding that they have experienced in Dillsboro, North Carolina and was humbled.    


If you haven't seen this Jimmy Kimmel spoof regarding how  Los Angeles has overacting to our "cold" temperature, check it out.  If you live in Southern California,  you will laugh....if you live elsewhere, I guess we are living up to the sterotypes about "Californians", and if you don't laugh with us, I'm sure you will laugh at us.   Enjoy

Lanise, I saw the Golden Globes and heard all the journalists talk about how they were freezing. Poor babies. Do like we do in Tennessee, put on another layer or two. It is very fashionable. LOL

Wow, I'd love to see 65 degrees!  We have just been issued a Winter Storm Watch here in the DC area, and are bracing for some light snow.

Lanise, I hope it warms up for you guys soon. It's kind of funny to me when I hear the same thing in Florida, I'm originally from Iceland, so it usually feels pretty warm to me.
