Little News Yields Mixed Market

With no economic reports due to come out today stock traders looked for other new.  When Japan's prime minister hinted that he may consider my buying foreign bonds including U.S. Treasuries, bonds saw early gains while stock futures sold off somewhat.  Many Fed speakers commented on low inflation, the sloth-like pace of the recovery and the need to keep buying bonds.  The low inflation, of course, allows the Fed to stick with its program of accommodation.  In a mixed market the Dow closed up 18 points.
