Wal Mart Makes History By Pledging to Give Every Veteran a Job

After being part of the military community, it tends to be difficult to adapt to the civilian world. However I was happy to see that one company has taken upon themselves to provide job security for all veterans in their stores and distribution centers. Every recently honorably discharged veteran now has the security of finding a job right away with Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart has recognized that veterans are great candidates for their job openings, stating that they are hard workers, and fast learners, and know how to function exceptionally under pressure.  The White House is pleased with WalMart's pledge and are making plans to begin encouraging other companies to take similar bold steps to make sure our veterans feel secure about their future in or out of the military.  Read more details in this MSN article. This news will benefit our veterans locally as well, since our Gulf Coast counts with several military installations. Many military men and women come to our area on assignment and decide to make this place their permanent home due to our nice weather, beaches, and affordable homes. If this is your case, and you need help finding a home in the Gulf Coast, give us a call or visit our team's website. We are on standby and ready to assist you in any way we can.

Glad to see a company like wal-mart step up to the plate and give our Vets a little something to look forward to. Our Vets do not get enough credit for what they do for this great Country. God Bless America..!!

I think this is unprecedented!  And, incredible.  Kudos to WalMart for taking this step.  These vets may not want or need to work there forever, but, it does give them a foothold in civilian society until they secure the career they wish.  I would hope to see more companies follow suit.
