Facebook Announces Graph Search - How Will This Effect Real Estate?
Today Facebook announced a new search capability that allows users to search the content of any of their friends on Facebook. At first this doesn't sound big, but think about it. With Facebook's "Graph Search", you can specifically search any restaurants your friends like and go to, any mechanics they used and were unhappy, or happy with! Anything your Facebook friends have shared and put on their Facebook page will be completely searchable! Even real estate agents that they've used!
Think about what this can affect. Yelp.com's importance takes a hit because now you can search, for example, restaurants your friends use, as opposed to reviews of people you don't know. Linked-in also will suffer because you can now search your friend's career fields and professions. What else can Facebook's new Graph Search affect?
By the way, Facebook has also teamed up with Microsoft to provide Bing results beyond your friend's results, so even Google is affected by this change.
