Rebecca, I love cross country skiing. Almost tried downhill when Dave & I were dating, but I chickened out after he rented my skiis & signed me up for lessons. My lesson was going to follow the little kids. Ugh! I walked back to chalet and turned in the equipment. Chicken, yes. Dead, no. I did have my cross country skiis in the truck so I put them on and headed off into the woods while Dave & friends enjoyed the slopes.

Rebecca, I use to be pretty darn good on the slopes these days I'm not sure if these ole knees would hold up. Maybe we need to hit the powder in Taos or Red River NM and see if the ole man still has it.... :)

Hi Rebecca,

We have snow in Big Bear and it is a popular ski and snowboard resort. It is a fun activity but you need to be careful especially as we get older. I slipped on the ice last weekend and I was OK but a little sore the next morning, but a couple of aspirins helped the ache to go away.

I think it is wonderful when someone finds a sport or hobby even late in life to have fun with. Great post.
